Coastal Pacific Construction recently completed the 244,000 SF expansion of Puma’s West Coast Distribution Center in Torrance, California.
Coastal Pacific’s main focus was to provide the infrastructure required for the install of the largest robotic Autostore System in the United States. The Ductilcrete concrete system was used to achieve a ‘superflat’ floor within the existing building, as well as provide structural perimeter support for the prefabricated vertical aluminum Autostore System. This was necessary to allow for the smooth operation, both vertically and horizontally, of the 170 robots that store and retrieve Puma merchandise to be shipped.
The project also included updating existing offices, the addition of a new shipping office and a 1,000 SF breakroom.
